Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to William Bradford Academy – a school worth choosing.

I welcome this opportunity to write to you as prospective parents of William Bradford Academy. The Academy aims to equip our pupils with not only the knowledge and skills for today but also for the jobs and opportunities for tomorrow.

The academy was named after William Bradford, born in 1663,  a local lad “made good”.  He was educated traditionally and was apprenticed into the new technology of the day – printing.

That knowledge, skill and his hard working attitude took him a long way. He travelled from Barwell to Pennsylvania in 1682 and introduced printing to the colonies, being responsible for printing the first Bible, Book of Common Prayer and the first banknote on American soil. We are proud of our association with him. Our core values reflect those that he espoused. Proud of his roots, respectful of all fellow human beings, he was hard working and successful. This is a tradition we want to uphold.

The cornerstones of our success provision are:

  • Striving to ensure that our students ‘Be the Best’
  • Single minded focus on high quality teaching and learning
  • Effective educational partnership – Being part of the Midlands Academies Trust and sponsored by North Warwickshire & Hinckley College we have a wealth of expertise, experience and knowledge to share and provide for our students, right from KS4 through to Post graduate level.

We offer a  safe and positive environment that offers a range of learning and life opportunities. We strive to ensure that  by equipping our pupils to be, confident and caring young people who are ready to take their place in the diverse and challenging world of today and tomorrow feel prepared and equipped for their next phases in education, training and or employment.

As part of the Midland Academies Trust and as an integral part of the William Bradford Academy our staff are proud of our achievements and keen to strive for the very best, governors and parents proudly support both our partnerhsips and pupils, all of which are proud to belong to a united and passionate community wanting our pupils to ‘Be the Best’.

I hope that you agree and that you will consider our Academy when making the right choice for your child.

Yours sincerely,
Principal
