Kate has a background of 12 years working in Human Resources, predominantly within the oil industry in both corporate and operational roles. Kate subsequently combined general HR consultancy with Career Transition Management consultancy, delivering both one to one and group workshop programmes on all aspects of career decision, job search, self-employment and active retirement. She also coordinated regional projects delivering services across a number of client sites covering major redundancies/site closures.
Over the years, Kate has had previous experience of voluntary work in schools and part time lecturing in a Further Education College. Kate has a BA (Hons) degree in German with French from RHC, University of London and a post graduate linguist secretarial diploma.

Kathy grew up and attended school locally, obtaining a degree in Biomedical Science with honours as a mature student. She has three children and her eldest child recently moved on to further education having attended William Bradford Academy and one child currently studying at the Academy.

Wendy Martin - Governor Safeguarding Governor – Wendy Martin

Wendy was a solicitor specialising in family law and child care. She became a governor at a primary school many years ago. She is currently chair of governors. She was also a governor at a special. school in Leicester. She was a member of the Children’s Trust in Leicester for five years and has now joined that. She was an independent chair of the Early Help Review Panel for Leicester City Council. She is also the Vice Chair of the City of Leicester Governors Association.

Dale Rattigan - Governor Health & Safety – Dale Rattigan

Dale has worked at the College for over 15 years as a lecturer and HND coordinator. He also works with young athletes as a certified strength and conditioning specialist with the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) and has worked with Plymouth Argyle FC, Ipswich Town and Crewe Alexander Football Clubs as well as the Welsh Amateur Boxing Team in preparation for the 2006 Commonwealth Games. He has joined the Corporation to provide a teaching and learning perspective direct from the classroom and hope to contribute and acquire a broader understanding of strategic decision making.

Tim Render Chair of Governors – Tim Render

A chartered public finance accountant and a trained town planner, Tim retired as Director of Finance for a major local authority in 2008. He now works as a consultant in finance and governance, and holds a number of non-executive roles. He is also the independent chair of the audit committee at North East Lincolnshire Council. Tim is a trustee of various local charities including Hinckley Homeless Group, CAB, Food bank and Worklink.

Tracy is an Intelligence Manager for a large UK financial institution. She is a former student, being one of the initial cohort back in the day when the school was called Earl Shilton Community College. Tracy is involved in building intelligence sharing across the Financial Services sector and Government and set up the Midlands Fraud Forum. Tracy has two children, one of whom is a primary school teacher and the other is currently an IT technican. As her tap dancing days are now behind her due to knee problems, she enjoys musical theatre, opera and gardening
