Message from Caroline Churchill (Principal)
Dear Parent/Carer

I welcome you as Principal to William Bradford Community College. We are a Specialist Technology College. Our specialist subjects are Design Technology, Maths and Science. All students study theses subjects at Key Stage Four.

William Bradford, born in 1663, was a local lad made good. Educated traditionally he was apprenticed into the new technology of the day - into printing.

That skill and his hard working attitude took him a long way. He travelled from Barwell to Pennsylvania in 1682 and introduced printing to the colonies, being responsible for printing the first Bible, Book of Common Prayer and the first banknote on American soil. We are proud of our association with him. Our core values reflect those that he espoused. Proud of his roots, respectful of all fellow human beings, he was hard working and successful.

A good education served William Bradford well. It lasted him a lifetime and was his passport to success. This is a tradition we want to uphold.

This is an exciting time in the development of the College. Recent improvements in all aspects of the College have been significant and, I believe that William Bradford Community College now has the potential to be an outstanding seat of learning. We aspire to provide each student with an educational opportunity where a blend of traditional academic achievements and 21st century technological skills make our students extremely employable and fully equipped to move on to all avenues of Further or Higher Education.

At the heart our work is a single-minded focus on high quality teaching and learning delivered by a dedicated staff team that is committed to supporting the progress of all of our students. We pride ourselves on our commitment to working in partnership with families to secure a successful future for students in our care.

This is a College in which students thrive, principally in the classroom but also because they can access learning anytime and anywhere. In addition, I know that College facilities are such that we can offer an extensive range of extra curricular activities. We offer a range of formal and informal learning, designed to ensure that students grow to be competent, confident and caring young people, young people who are ready to take their place as adults in a complex global community. I believe that William Bradford Community College is a place where staff are proud to work, governors and parents proud to support and students proud to belong.

I hope that you agree and that you will consider our College when making the right choice for your child.
Yours sincerely,

Caroline Churchill
Principal
